The Ruddles material was so highly coveted by collectors, enthusiasts and journalists hoping for the latest scoop that - on the advice of security consultants - the band took to hoarding new ideas, lyrics and arrangements in this "Rover Challenge" ring binder. Despite several ransackings of their premises none of this highly prized material was ever taken. Though several expensive guitars and high end amplifiers were taken in a succession of raids - the protagonists claiming it to be "an act of public mercy" amid rumours that the Musician's Union had some part in funding the criminal act.
